Who qualifies for ECO4 home improvements grant?

Eligibility for the ECO4 scheme is reserved for homeowners and private tenants, in properties (houses and flats) with EPC ratings of D, E, F or G who claim income-related benefits, such as income-related employment and support allowance (see full list of ECO4 grant scheme qualifying benefits). Landlords can also encourage their tenants to apply, but both parties need to agree:

  • Income related Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income Support (IS)
  • Pension Credit Guarantee Credit
  • Working Tax Credit (WTC)
  • Child Tax Credits (CTC)
  • Universal Credit (UC)
  • Housing Benefit
  • Pension Credit Savings Credit
  • Child Benefits (Income Limit)
  • Warm Homes Discount Scheme

The Government scheme covers a wide range of home improvements to reduce UK homes carbon emissions, including insulation. If you’re eligible, you may be entitled to loft insulation grant

External Wall Insulation

Air Source Heat Pumps

Replace your old boiler with a modern, efficient Air source heat pump. An air source heat pump, sometimes referred to as an air-to-water source heat pump, transfers heat from the outside air to water, which heats your rooms via radiators or underfloor heating

Solar Panel

Solar electricity panels, also known as photovoltaics (PV), capture the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity that you can use in your home. By installing solar panels, you can generate your own renewable electricity.

Heating Control

That let you keep your home at a comfortable temperature without wasting fuel or heat. Heating controls help you keep your home comfortably warm, without over-heating and wasting energy.

Internal Wall Insulation

Approximately 35% of heat escapes from your home through its exterior walls, so if your home is constructed of solid walls, your options for cheaper solutions are limited. Lack of insulation will result in significantly higher energy bills plus a higher risk of damp and mould growing.
